The GPS location will locate the cell, now does your wife usually bring the phone with her when she goes places? I would think she does. Is she telling you she is going one place but the GPS locator will tell you something else?
The best way is of course to talk to your wife. Ask her what's going on, ask her to check the messages, if she has nothing to hide she might be more than willing to share her messages with you.
